Christmas 2011

Our Christmas started off early and late. It was full of surprises and rushing. I say it started early because I came down stairs at 5:30am to find Kenzie and Xander watching TV. I promptly sent them back to bed because I wanted more sleep and everyone else was till asleep. Then I awoke to, not quite the sounds of giddy, happy, excited children but rather to the sounds of two brothers screaming and crying.
It turns out that Xander woke Dawson up thinking that Dawson would be as excited about Christmas as he was. Well, Dawson was not excited to see his brother in his bed at 8am. So, due to the fighting they were sent back to bed till Sawyer woke up. As it turns out, that wasn't till 10. That's where our late comes into play. By the time Ty and I got our teeth brushed and other morning essential routines taken care of it was 10:30 before we started opening presents.
Here's the other catch. We only had till 12 to do Christmas because we had to get ready for church at 1. I'm happy to say that we finished our last gifts at 11:50. Christmas mornings take longer when there are 6 of us opening things. And when 1 of us is only 20 months old. We did skip him several times. He was so distracted by the tractor ornament that grandma and grandpa gave him that he didn't seem to notice what was going on.
It was a great Christmas morning for all of us here in the Keith household.
Our Christmas tree and stockings on Christmas morning.

One of the surprises we found that morning was to find ornaments on our tree.
We didn't put them on because:
1. Sawyer is my future baseball player and he throws everything.
2. I thought the lights and bows were pretty enough.
3. I'm just plain lazy and never got around to hauling the totes out.

Opening stockings.
Everyone got "pass of all passes."
It's a pass that gets us into Seven Peaks water park and Trafalga
(a mini golf and go-cart place) all year round.

You'll notice the kids all have camo pj's on. Those were the theme pj's the kids got to open on Christmas Eve. Dawson spilt on his that's why he's in plaid.

Sawyer cuddling with daddy after he opened up a puppy pillow and blanket.
Xander got a new skateboard.

Dawson and Sawyer got in on the skateboard fun.

Kenz reading her tear-jerker of a letter from grandma Bruderer.
I'm glad I didn't have to read it.

Kenzie got the Oobees she wanted.

My bow boy.

Bow Booty

This is no ordinary race track. It's magnetic.
As are the cars. So you can build loops and the cars won't fall off.

Kenzie's Christmas dress.

Guitar playing boy.

Dawson got his elephant. It's a pillow and blanket set.

Here is Sawyer playing with his tractor ornament. He loved it!

Xander got his own chair for playing video games.

Sawyer loves cars and anything he can zoom a car down.

And the last gift of the morning was Tyler's art drawing studio table.
It has a glass top so he can shine a light from on top and under it so he can do his pencil shading better.
This is the present I was so excited to give him.
And he loved it!

Ducts, Not Just For Air.

Sometime I sit back and laugh my head off at the joy my children bring me. Their imaginations are limitless. Today I as I type this I am being entertained by 2 youngest boys chatting with each other.
What's so special about this. Well, Dawson and Sawyer are best of friends as I've mentioned before. But they have proven that nothing can separate their bond. They are talking trough the air vents to each other. Dawson is the basement and Sawyer is in the kitchen and they're calling each others names and laughing hysterically when they can hear the other's voice.
Once contact has been established and the laughter dies down, Dawson runs up the stairs and hugs Sawyer. Then he runs upstairs to my bedroom and calls to Sawyer through my bedroom vent. Sawyer giggling replies by calling,"Dawsi, Dawsi." It is truly entertaining, not to mention it will wear them out.
Oh, how I am so grateful for these littlest boys of mine. They're love and friendship for each other makes me so thankful that the 4 1/2 year gap in ages means nothing to brothers. Sawyer was definitely suppose to come to our family and never for a minute was he an oops. Heavenly Father had a plan and He knew that Dawson needed his best-friend in our family.

Keith Family Christmas

On Christmas Eve we headed over to Tyler's brother Todd and his lovely wife Renee's house. We had our family dinner that day so that everyone could enjoy their own Christmas day with their families.
We had the usual fixins' such as; turkey, ham, potatoes, veggies, rolls, orange rolls, chips, sweet potatoes, and plenty of sweets. I made cake pops for the first time. They were a hit!
After dinner we had a special visitor from the north pole. Jolly ol' Saint Nick paid us a special visit and delivered a gift to all of us.
Here are some shots from the night. OK. not some but lots.

Xander and Santa.
He got a Captain America Bionicle.

Mackenzie is telling Santa she's been a very good girl.
Kenz got an MP3 player and hat.

Sawyer was not too excited about sitting with Santa.
He hid behind my legs.
But when he saw Santa with a present for him there were no hesitations.

Mister stinker wouldn't sit on Santa's knee.
I'm surprised he still got a present.

Kenzie and Jaimey figuring out how to work Kenzie's MP3 player.

They got it working.
These 2 cousins are best-friends.

Even I must have been a good girl cause Santa brought me a gift too.

Fun shot.

Look at this cute little dude.

Ender and Sawyer are trying to figure out how to open this chest.

Xander is telling Uncle Todd a few secrets to life.

Kenz and Sawyer playing with Bella the puppy.

Thanks Todd and Renee for hosting all of us at your house and for the pics.
