Dawson the big brother.

I had to share this funny story about Dawson.

Dawson was holding Sawyer and he looked up at me with a look on his face that only a mother could read. It was the uh-oh, I'm not up-to anything look.

Well, when I saw this look I asked Dawson what he was doing. He said,"nothing." My curiosity was peeked because he was holding Sawyer. What could he have done? Sawyer wasn't crying. It must not have been too bad.

I asked him again, and the answer was the same. I then realized Dawson was eating dry cereal.

I asked Dawson, "did you just feed the baby 'Captain Crunch?"

He looked at me and said, "he wanted some cereal with his milk."

Let's just say, Dawson's always looking out for his baby brother!

A month already

I can't believe Sawyer has been here for 1 month already. It seems like we were just in the hospital awaiting his arrival. But here we are today, blessed with this beautiful baby boy. I can't imagine our family without him.

Sawyer is a very easy baby. He only cries when he's hungry or needs a diaper change. As long as we stay on top of his feedings, the crying is very minimal, it's more like a whimper. And we found that if we feed him first then change him while his tummy is full he handles those diaper changes a lot better.

Sawyer is definitely neglected! Yea Right! Sometimes I think he gets too much love from his older brothers and sister. I have to constantly watch him when his sister gets home from school. She swoops him up in her arms and loves him. This might not sound too bad. And it really isn't a problem unless she does it while he's sleeping. I've had to remind her on several occasions to please let him sleep!

Dawson has proved to be a huge help during the day. The best way he helps is by sleeping in till 9 or 10. Yes, you read that right. Dawson sleeps till at least 9 every day. Now you're wondering when he goes to bed. It's usually around 9.

The kids go off to school at 8 and Sawyer is usually back asleep then and that means mommy can climb back in bed for a little while. Dawson helps a lot with getting things for mommy, such as; burp cloths, binkies, diapers. He also loves his baby brother. Dawson holds him and gives him tons of kisses. He really thinks he's cool when he feeds his little brother.

Sawyer has followed the example set by his older siblings when comes to sleep. He loves his tummy! Oh No, you might be thinking not his tummy. But, he loves it and if he's sleeping 5 hrs then mommy is sleeping 5 hrs. The funniest thing with Sawyer is trying to figure out who he looks like. Let me clarify this. He is definitely a Keith. Tyler cannot deny this little man. But, everyone that sees Sawyer says he looks like a different sibling. In church on Sunday I was walking down the hall with him and one of the sisters said he looked like Dawson no doubt about it. As I turned the corner someone else stopped me and said, he looked exactly like Kenzie. My grandma thinks he was Xander. I guess time will tell as he develops into "himself".

One thing is for sure; I think he's a cutie.

Chocolate milk!

My sister recently posted on her blog a little story about being a mom and finding a cheerio in her bra. So I thought I'd post this little cleavage story for you all to chuckle at.
I recently found a chocolate chip melted between the 'girls' when I took my bra off. I told Ty about it and little ears must have been listening because Dawson then asked me,
"if I was making chocolate milk for the baby."

Conversation

I just had to post the conversation my boys had with their Great-Grandpa Bruderer. Anyone who knows my gramps or has ever met him will testify of his humor and personality. Gramps leaves an ever lasting impression on every one he meets. So without further ado; onto the story.

Xander and Gramps; (edited of a few parts)

G- So tell me, do you have a girlfriend?
X-(GIGGLING) Yes.
G- Ohhh is she cute? Does she know she's your girlfriend?
X- Yes, she's in my class.
G-what color hair and eyes does she have?
X-dark hair and blue eyes. And she's taller then me.
G- You kissed her huh. Know how I can tell.
X- no I haven't. Kissing is for teenagers. My mom said I'm not allowed.
G- But when you kiss girls, their lips cover your face and then they suck your front teeth out. See now, smile for me.
X- (smiles) (giggles again)
G- I knew it, You've been kissing girls.

Gramps to both boys;

G-Did you know kissing girls makes you crazy and then you keep kissing them and you can do this. (He then proceeds to take his false teeth out) You'll loose all your teeth.
X/D- Laughing their heads off-How'd you do that? Do it again!
G- he then gives into the boy's wishes and makes the top teeth pop out.
D- (to Grandma) Hey can you take your teeth out like him?
Grams- I can, but I don't take mine out. Grandpa does it to be silly.
D-well, that's crazy. I wish my teeth came out like that. I could scare people.

I remember having this same conversation with gramps when I was younger.
Oh the memories.

Visit with Great Grandma and Grandpa

Today I received a phone call at 9am and it was my wonderful grandma Bruderer. She and gramps were here in Lehi from Wyoming and wanted to come out and visit and meet their new great-grandson. Sawyer is grams and gramps 42nd great -grandchild. Isn't that amazing prosperity.

Sawyer cuddled right into grandma's arms and fell fast asleep.
Gramps said, "well done, he looks like a baby." Such a deep thoughtful man.

Grandma did comment that Sawyer is a good blend of his brothers and he looks like a Keith. Thank-goodness for that! Tyler can't deny this one.

Aim batter, batter, batter.

Today was Xander's first baseball game. Last week the games got rained out. But today was absolutely beautiful. Xander got "2 hits and ran super fast." That's a quote from him. He had so much fun. I had to leave his game early to go do gymnastics trade but I did get to see him hit the ball and run to 1st base. He was beaming with pride and so were we!

Xander turns '7'

This year Xander wanted a pirate themed party. The main thing he asked for was a pirate cake and an eye patch.

Eye patch=no prob. Pirate cake=???

As a matter of fact, all the boys at Xander's party got an eye patch and a hook for their hand. How's that for a take-away gift!

Now onto his cake. I decided to pass the tourch to Ty for this one. I told him to just make it simple and carve an eye patch shape and then we'd figure out the rest. I should have know better than to expect Tyler to keep it simple.

Here is what he came up with.

Be impressed, I sure was. I teased him that we should go to Idaho and he and my sister Missy (who does wedding cakes and other occassion cakes) could practice cakes together. :)

Please also note, this was Ty's first time using fondant and he hand painted the sand and details.

Worn out!

I guess my littlest boys have had a long day!
