I took the kiddos to Thanksgiving Point for some much needed run around and get out the house time. They had fun seeing the different animals and making the animal sounds back to the animal. For instance, the cow went moo so did the kids, sheep went baa, so did the kids. I think the best was when the donkey made this donkey sound and Dawson jumped and tried to mock it and then the donkey did it again and Dawson started laughing and dancing around. And then it did it again and Dawson pointed his finger at it. And in a very Dawson way, made a face and said "that's too loud donkey!" It was so funny.
We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the shade of a tree on the grass. The kids fed the donkey apple slices and fruit snacks. Turns out donkey's don't like Transformer fruit snacks. Nor do they care for tattoo fruit roll-ups. Go figure.
After lunch we walked around the different little play buildings they have there and took pictures. There was a jail house and that's what has the bars on the windows. Then there was another house and that's what Dawson is sitting on the window frame of.
Before leaving, the kids all got pony rides and were little cow boys and a cow girl. Dawson loved the pony ride. Xander was cool with it. Kenzie however, was scared. I said to her Kenz, how can you be scared of something that is tied up #1 and is shorter than Dawson? I looked at her and said, honey, you do flips and twists up on the uneven bars and jump off the balance beam. How can you be scared of a pony walking in a circle? She finally decided to go and hated every second of it. Claiming it was boring and I made her do it. To clear that up, I told her to give Dawson her ticket. And once I said that and she realized she was going to completely miss out on something she changed her mind.
I think deep down she actually liked it. She did tell daddy all about it when he got home. I know the boys loved it. And I don't think that donkey will ever be the same. Poor thing.
