Yippee For Sunshine!

We couldn't pass up another beautiful sunshiney day.

Sawyer loves his 4-wheeler he got for Christmas.

With that wing span, he really might be able to fly.

Xander and Sawyer are racing.

Dawson got a little cold and decided to watch the race.

Somebody went into the busy street. 

It might not look busy, but it's the one in front of my house.

When I told Sawyer he needed to stay in the alley way, he told me, 

"It's too little of a road. I need the big road to drive on."

He was quickly given 2 choices

1. stay in the back alley

2. Come inside.

He rode quickly to the back and stayed.

Spring Fever.

While it seems my family in Ohio is stuck in an eternal winter. We here in Utah are enjoying some beautiful spring like temperatures. I had to get the kids outside and take advantage of the sunshine.
They loved it as much as mom did!

Yes, he does have short sleeves on. 

And yes, it is February.

I wasn't the only mom with the idea of sending kids out.

As soon as 1 kid is outside, they all come running.

The one thing I love about living with an ally behind us is the fact that all the kids can safely play.

The only ones that drive through are those that live on the ally. Everyone knows to watch for kids.

There are only my 4 kids and Jen's 2 out this day. But any other given day you can find Becky's 5 kids, Lois's 6 kids, and few stragglers that come in search of the fun and join in. 

If you kept count, that's a total of 17 kids in the alley. That's only 4 houses!

The alley is a great place to live!!!

Because We Can.

Have you ever done something silly simply because you can. I find that I often get myself in silly situations when it comes to daughter. We are the goofiest girls together. We often have mother/daughter outings. Sometimes they're simple little trips to the store. Other times, we make a day of it and go shopping, have lunch or ice cream. One thing is guaranteed, we laugh a lot and act silly.
One of most recent outing led us into a 'hairy' situation.

We found these 'Duck Dynasty' beards at Walmart.

They were clearanced and then it was an additional 50% off.

I can spend a $ on a few silly beards to make crazy fun memories with my daughter.

We had quite the giggles going as we posed for our hairy selfies.

Do we stop with the beards? Heck no!
The day it was the Mardi gras masks I was making for my Bunco night.

I sure love spending time with my favorite daughter. We have so much fun together and share a million laughs.

One day Dawson came home from school and told me he was having a hard time seeing the board at school. I knew he needed glasses before school started, but his eyes weren't bad enough he needed them right then. But, as the year progressed and as he hit a big growth spurt his eyes changed. So into the eye doc he went. And now he is even more handsome than ever.
I joked with him that he better watch out cause the girls are really going to fall in love with him cause he's even more handsome. He laughed and said to me, "I know, but the good thing is now I'll be able to 'SEE' them coming."

What to do While Kids are in School?

Sometimes having just one kid home during the day  is a blessing and a curse.
I absolutely love all the mommy and Sawyer time we have. We do everything together. We cuddle and watch movies. We play games. We've even played video games together. Shopping is so much more fun with only 1 kid in tow. Not to mention, he's very well behaved in stores.
He makes me laugh while we're shopping.
When he sees something he wants this is how he asks for it. "Mom, I want this plane. Oh, but not right now. Put it on my birthday list. Deal mom." Guess he's heard me tell him one too many times to put it on his Christmas list or birthday list. Now he just tells himself. The funny thing is, he will walk down a toy aisle and say this about every toy he passes. He just keeps repeating himself and I don't have to say a word.
A lady in the same aisle once said to me as she was giggling, "You've sure got him trained. Wanna come teach my kids." I told her, "Sure, but the key thing to notice is I never said, 'no'. I simply say let's put it on a list."
What else do Sawyer and I do, we play outside because we're not stuck in an eternal winter like my family in Ohio.

 We even go rock climbing!

 Play a little baseball.

Sometimes our weather isn't the best so we do get stuck inside. Playdough can fill hours of play time for a 3 year old boy. Which means, when he's content playing by himself, mommy can get a little crafting done.

 Sawyer creates with play dough while mom creates with wood, paints, paper and glue.

I was able to finish this for Kenz's room.

But, I decided to redo it cause I wasn't too impressed with it.

I know I kinda went off subject with those two last pictures but I was already putting some craft pics on so why not add more.
Now back to Me and Sawyer.
I absolutely love being home with Sawyer. However sometimes I feel bad for him cause he really misses playing with his brothers. There are times he continually asks me when Dawson is coming home to play.
One of the greatest things I've been able to do with him is completely focus on his potty training. He was doing pretty good at it until Farm season hit last Oct. then it went down hill. As my schedule relaxed I was able to fully commit to him and using the potty. I must say, he has been really good at it. Another added bonus to waiting till he was a little older.

But, the thing I absolutely love the most about having Sawyer all to myself are his hugs and kisses. I get spoiled rotten by all the love he gives me.

Bows and Ties

I am officially done with nursery aged kids. What does this mean? My baby has moved onto primary.
 He's a sunbeam!!!
Sawyer and I are 2 very lucky people. His teacher is one of my dearest friends. He has Kari Done as his teacher. That's good news for me cause she's amazing.
Kari originally had a class of all girls until Sawyer joined it. For each of the girls she made cute little hair bows for them to wear the first day of sunbeams. Since Sawyer was now in her class she had to come up with something special for him to wear. I joked with her that she could make him a hair bow too. Instead, she made him a cute little bow tie to wear.

How cute is he.

He asked to take a picture with mommy.

After he got his new bow tie he told me, "Now I don't have to wear regular ties anymore."
