Heaven and Hell

I just wanted to share this amazing picture of the Herriman Fire. It started at Camp Williams which as you know is not far from our house. Luckily, for us, the winds pushed the fire in the opposite direction and it went over the mountain northward. Unfortunately, Herriman is on the other side of the mountain. Over1600 homes were evacuated last night and as of this morning only a few have been destroyed. The news showed pictures of homes that the fire burned right up to their property lines. The fire literally stopped at the grass line. It was astonishing to see how these homes were saved through the efforts of the firefighters and divine intervention.
We will be staying inside today because as soon as the door opens the heavy smell of smoke fills the house. Not good for breathing. We are very grateful to be blessed with our home this morning. My heart and prayers go to out to all those who are still evacuated awaiting word on if they have home to return to.
This picture is of the Timp Temple in American Fork. The picture is titled Heaven and Hell.

"I'm going to grandma's"

I couldn't find Dawson this morning and as I kept calling his name it occurred to me to look in the garage. I opened the door and didn't see him so I continued on my search. A moment later Dawson walked in the door from the garage.
He said,"Mom are you looking for me"
I replied, "Where were you? I just looked in the garage."
He smiled, and said, "I was in the van. I was waiting in there until we go to grandma's house again. See I got my toys ready to go."

Silly sounds

Mackenzie making silly noises for Sawyer.

She can really get him laughing hard. But of course as soon as the camera starts rolling the kid quiets down. But it's still cute.

Stories to make you smile and think.

The Good News:
A husband came home from work and was greeted by his wife. She said, "I have great news for you. Pretty soon we're going to be three in this little house instead of just two." Her husband ran to her with a smile on his face and delight in his eyes. He was glowing with happiness and kissed his wife. She was happy and smiling too when she said,"I'm so glad you feel this way. My mother moves in with us tomorrow!"

Would it take a Brick to Get Your Attention?
A young, successful executive named Josh was driving down a neighborhood street. He was talking on his cell phone and going a bit too fast in his brand new, sleek, supercharged Jaguar XKR. Suddenly- Whump! A brick smashed into the Jag's pristine black door! SCREECH!!!! Brakes slammed, gears ground into reverse, and tires madly spun the Jaguar back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. There stood a young boy, looking desperate.
Josh jumped out of the Jaguar, grabbed the boy and pushed him up against a parked car. "What was that all about and who are you? That's my new Jag, and that brick you threw is going to cost you a lot of money. Why did you throw it?"
"Please mister, please. I'm sorry! I didn't know what else to do! I threw the brick because no one else would stop!" Tears dripped down the boy's chin as he pointed around the parked car. "It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up. Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair?" the boy pleaded. "He's hurt and too heavy for me."
Stunned, Josh desperately tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump n his throat. He gently lifted the young man back into the wheelchair, then took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be OK. He watched as the younger brother eased the wheelchair down the sidewalk and around the corner. Then Josh spent a along time looking at his brand-new, sleek, supercharged Jaguar XKR.
Josh never did fix the side door of his Jaguar. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone had to throw a brick at him to get his attention.
That brick was a blessing!

Earlier this week as I was on my way home from my walk with a friend at night, we crossed the street in an unusual spot from our daily routine. I follow a fairly direct route from my home to the 'Ranches' entrance where I live and back. This time we crossed by the park where we never do. As I reached the other side of the street I heard a faint, barley a whisper, "help me" a voice said. I turned and in the darkness I could scarcely make out the figure a young a woman collapsed on the sidewalk next to a car. I ran to her side and discovered she often has painful migraines that cause her to black out. We quickly attended to her and asked if we could call someone for her. She told us her friend Melanie was in the park with a group a friends. I ran into the dark park screaming for Melanie. Melanie came and ran to her friends side.
The others followed and soon took over the situation. The young lady was embarrassed and asked that not everyone gather around her. The group dispersed and my friend and I continued on our way.

Sometimes we are the ones needed at a certain times and only the Lord knows when those moments will arise. But, if we are in tune to the promptings given to us we can fulfill our parts in Heavenly Fathers plan.
I didn't know why we crossed the street where we did, but if we hadn't we would have never seen or heard this young lady's plea for help.
I'm glad it didn't take a brick for my attention to be gotten. Don't let it take a brick to get your attention. Live your life as to be in tune to the small promptings given to us from our loving Father in Heaven. You never know where we will be led in life. Whether it's across the street or to neighbor's house. We can fulfill a purpose greater than ourselves.
Be like the brick and be a blessing in someone else's life.
