In the middle of no where, South of Nephi, Utah is a sign that says, "Yuba Lake" and an arrow pointing to the left. We passed this sign on our way to Cedar City for the Utah Summer Games. After Kenz's meet we were debating what we were going to do. Our first idea was to go Cedar Breaks and hike around. Well, that option was smashed due to 12 feet of snow that still covered the road. Yes, Mother Nature it is June here. So we decided that the next option was a sign saying Yuba Lake. Why not see if the lake was unfrozen and possibly swimable.
So we stopped at a little rinky dink store in Beaver and grabbed sunscreen and towels. Then headed to the exit for Yuba Lake. We were pleasantly surprised. It was a great Lake. Complete with camping sites, boat launch areas, picnic tables, and an entire sandy side. We opted for the sandy beach side. The kids were so excited to be able to play in the sand and water. Mom was excited to have happy children.
Here are some pictures from our impromptu to swim.
Those are some very happy Keith Children.
Sawyer was the happiest baby alive. He's a true water baby.
Who knows what Dawson is doing?
He's just being Dawson.
I see London.
I see France.
I see Kenzie's bikini pants.
Sawyer floated around in this tube thing for over an hour.
Here is Sawyer and daddy playing in the sand.
Guess it was time to get back in the water.
Sawyer wasn't quite done.
"Hi Mommy!"
Little dude passed out before we were away from the lake.
You can still see it out his window.
It was fun times and great memories. We might just become regulars at Yuba Lake.
