Gymnastic Meet

Kenzie flipped, tumbled, leaped, swung, balanced and flew into this new gymnastic competition season in style. She was relaxed and very confident.
As she approached her first event the bars, she glanced over at me, flashed me her cheesy grin and gave me a huge thumbs up. I knew she was excited to show off her skills. And show them off she did.
She flew from bar to bar and was beautiful as she did so. How good was she? Let's just say 9.4 good! That's right. a 9.4 on her bar routine. AMAZING! My friend Emma and I chuckled as we looked back at the girl that a year ago was scared to death to make the jump from the low bar to the high bar. Now she practically flew there. Not only did she score her highest score ever, she ended up taking first place in her level with that score.
She then moved onto the floor routine. Once again, it was beautiful. She was poised and strong. Her tumbling passes were tight and firm. She smiled through the entire routine and enjoyed every minute of it. Did her score reflect her performance well? You bet it did. 8.7. That was good enough for another first place finish on the award podium.
Next up was beam. She began strong. Ended strong and wobbled a little in the middle. She actually fell off. She hopped back on, finished her routine and still ended up with an impressive score of 8.75. That was good enough for a second place finish. FYI a fall is a .50 deduction. Which means her score would have been a 9.25. Not too shabby, huh.
Kenzie finished the meet with an amazing vault. She ran, jumped, flipped and stuck it. With her terrific vaulting skills her 8.5 landed her in another first place finish.
With her 3 first place finishes and her second place finish on beam she secured another first place finish in the All Around.
In the end it was a great meet and a great day and a great time to be Mackenzie.

OK, it's nice to read but I need to see video.
I am so impressed with her skills. She's doing such a wonderful job. Bet she never lost her smile even when she fell.
Great performance Kenz.
