Schools Out For the Summer.

It's hard to believe that the school year has come to an end. This year has flown by. I feel so blessed to have been able to spend time in all my kid's classes and I've gotten to know their teachers very well. This is a hard year to see end.
Mackenzie's teacher, Mrs. Varner is amazing. She recognized Kenzie's academic potential early on and pushed her to new limits. At the beginning of every week she gave the kids a pre-spelling test. If a student got 100% on the pretest, they didn't have to do the spelling packet for the week. Kenzie only had spelling homework about 5x this entire year. Mrs. Varner also did pretests for math sections. If a student passed that section with a 90% or higher, they didn't have to do that math section. Once again, Kenz didn't get too much math.
One of the coolest things Varner did for the kids that passed the fraction section was have them teach their own lesson to other students. Kenzie had to come up with a lesson plan on how we can use fractions in our daily lives. She then presented her lesson to a group of 3rd graders. Kenzie used 'Smarties' to teach fractions. Her lesson was well detailed and easy to understand that Mrs. Varner talked about Mackenzie's lesson in a teacher training with the principle and all the other teachers present. Very impressive if you ask me.
Kenzie ended the school year with straight A's. She scores averaged 100.40. With one 96.325%. Yeah, she's my brainiac.

 Recorder Karate Award 

(She had to pass off songs on the recorder to get her black belt)

And her certificate of completion. Meaning she passed 5th grade and is moving onto 6th.
