We started our new Christmas tradition on Dec. 1st with an intro to the kids of our little elf. They unwrapped him and together we read the story that comes along with him. According to the story, in order for the elf to receive his magic and come to life he first must receive a name.
This may sound simple, but trust me, it's not. With 4 children and 3 of them being very opinionated it turned into quite the discussion. In the end our little elf received the name 'Jingle'.
During the night our elf returns to Santa and reports to him the actions of the children during the day. He will report if they were naughty or nice. Then before they wake up he returns to us and hides somewhere for the children to find him. The only rule is... No touching.
It seems our little Jingle is a very curious elf. We have found him doing some pretty silly things.
Here is a list of the daily happenings of Jingle.
Day 1.
I think Jingle was looking for his name on the
Family Home Evening board.
Day 2.
I left some craft stuff out and our little Jingle decided it would be fun to help me paint.
When Dawson saw that Jingle had gotten into my paint he said,
"Oh Jingle is in trouble now."
Day 3 .
Looks like Jingle found himself in a little pickle.
He was trying to get a mid-night snack when the cereal container's lid closed and trapped him inside.
Day 4.
Once again, I left some crafting stuff out and Mr. Jingle found it.
We discovered Jingle covered in Vinyl.
Here's Dawson's theory,
Since Jingle is magical he made the little girl elf on the tile next to him come to life.
The 2 elves played all night and that's how Jingle ended up covered in Vinyl.
Day 5.
Curiosity is gonna get the better of him.
We think he must have been trying to turn the fan on to go for a ride.
That one didn't work out to well for him.
Day 6.
All- Aboard!
Can I see your ticket please.
This train actually rolls along the floor when you push down on it.
I guess Jingle wanted to go for a ride.
Day 7.
Little mess maker.
We found Jingle in front of the TV. with chips and a drink.
Guess he wanted to watch a movie and have a late night snack.
That's what our little Jingle has been up to this past week. I can't wait to see what new adventures and discoveries are in store for this week. Stay tuned to find out.
