I just wanted to share this amazing picture of the Herriman Fire. It started at Camp Williams which as you know is not far from our house. Luckily, for us, the winds pushed the fire in the opposite direction and it went over the mountain northward. Unfortunately, Herriman is on the other side of the mountain. Over1600 homes were evacuated last night and as of this morning only a few have been destroyed. The news showed pictures of homes that the fire burned right up to their property lines. The fire literally stopped at the grass line. It was astonishing to see how these homes were saved through the efforts of the firefighters and divine intervention.
We will be staying inside today because as soon as the door opens the heavy smell of smoke fills the house. Not good for breathing. We are very grateful to be blessed with our home this morning. My heart and prayers go to out to all those who are still evacuated awaiting word on if they have home to return to.
This picture is of the Timp Temple in American Fork. The picture is titled Heaven and Hell.

Wow, quite the pic. I hadn't heard about the fire. Glad you guys are OK. Sorry for those that did lose their homes. Hooray for the firefighters that saved so many. Were the schools still opened with all the smoke? Take care
No mom, schools were all closed and the high school was actully the evac site. The put cots in the gym and provided supplies and b-fast for people.
That is an incredible picture.
Fire is such an unforgiving force. It destroys everything in its path. Even the smoke is a killer. I hate to see fires happen.
